About Dr John Caine
Dr John Caine, a native of Fish Hoek, has been a cornerstone of the dental community for over 40 years. His journey began after completing his schooling at St Joseph’s College in Rondebosch. He pursued a B.Sc (Hons) in Human Physiology at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 1975. His passion for dentistry led him to the University of Witwatersrand, where he earned his BDS in 1980.
Dr Caine’s rich professional experience includes working in several esteemed dental practices. He worked for Dr Kretschmer in Melville, Johannesburg, and Dr Pienaar in Fish Hoek early in his career. He also gained international experience in London, working for a year with Dr Eric Sorrell on Bayswater Road. Upon his return to Cape Town, he collaborated with Dr Ryno Greenwall in Observatory and later with Drs Hofmeyer and Donelly in Wynberg.
In 1984, Dr Caine established his practice in Fish Hoek, where he has served the community ever since. His expertise spans Conservative and Restorative Dentistry, Aesthetic Dentistry, Periodontics, and Oral Surgery. Dr Caine is renowned for his compassion and a patient-centric approach, consistently working towards achieving optimal outcomes for his patients.
On a personal front, Dr Caine is happily married to Susan, and they are proud parents of two children, John and Sian. Dr. Caine is an avid sports fan who enjoys golf, tennis and hiking and watching rugby.
